Jock itch is a fungal infection of the skin in the upper thighs and groin part. It is also known as tinea crurcis. Jock itch affects both men and women but as per the research it is men who are suffering more from Jock itch.
Main Causes of Jock itch

There are many causes of Jock itch. Some of them are listed below:-

• The main cause of Jock itch is a fungal infection that starts spreading through the skin area.
• It is also caused by a fungus called dermatophytes. These microorganisms grow in your skin and remain as long as your skin is moist. It can occur in those parts of the body that are moist and warm like the groin.
• You can suffer from Jock itch if your body’s immunity system gets weak.
• Jock itch is an infectious disease and it spreads from one person to the other. So avoid using dirty and infected towels, handkerchief, or clothes of anyone.
• It can even happen through sexual contacts with the person who is already suffering from Jock itch.
• People having diabetes are more prone to Jock itch.
• Those who wear tight clothes can also experience the disease so avoid doing that as tight clothes compress the body.
• If you already have fungal infection like athlete’s foot then it can also lead to Jock itch.

Hence we can say that the root cause of Jock itch is a fungal or yeast infection that grows slowly in the body.

Jockitch is a kind of skin disease, the symptoms of which are similar to that of ringworm. This skin disease mainly affects the groin areas as well as the surrounding areas. An individual can also be infected by jockitch in the upper thigh area up to the region near to anal.

Causes of jockitch
Jockitch occurs because of unhygienic practices like not changing undergarments everyday and sharing towels or intimate apparels with someone. You can also catch jockitch during the direct contact with the person suffering from the same skin disease. Therefore, it is suggested not to share bed, towels, pants, shorts as well as blankets with a person facing the problem of jockitch. It would rather be prudent to change the bed sheets and other intimate belongings immediately if your partner is showing the symptoms of jockitch. This would help you to prevent from this skin disease.

Jockitch causes to those people who wear fitted clothes, and the reason behind this is that fitted clothing makes the groin region moist as well as warm thus developing the skin disease. Jockitch causes mainly in the month of summers, thus it is wise to wear clothes, which will keep your groin region to be dry and breathe.

Besides definite conditions or diseases there are other few who are more prone to jock itch skin disease. People suffering from obesity or diabetes develop or catch jock itch much more than others. So, it is always suggested to be very cautious with the clothing you wear as well as food stuff you eat, if suffering from above conditions.

Jockitch is a common fungal infection caused by the fungi “Trichophyton rubrum”. This skin problem is prevalent at the time of warm summers as fungi love to strain in mist, warm and sweaty places specifically in the groin region. If you are suffering from the problem of scratching your upper thigh and groin region then you might be suffering from the Jock itch symptoms.

What is Jockitch?
As has been discussed earlier, Jockitch is a kind of fungal skin disease the symptoms of which are similar to that of ringworm. Jock itch consists of elevated, red, round patches and usually occurs because of sweat and warmth in your groin area. There are high chances of you being caught by the Jockitch skin disease if you or your skin makes a contact with the bed sheets, towels or clothing used by a person suffering from Jockitch.

Jockitch cause
Jockitch can easily affect any individual, be it a child, woman or man. There are several reasons of Jock itch that are as follows:

• People who are inheriting broad-spectrum medicines as well as possess a weak immune system or have diabetes are very much at the risk of developing Jockitch.
• Wearing fitted clothes can result in sweating in the groin area and this as a result can lead to Jockitch, since this skin disease is caused in moist and warm skin areas.
• If an individual does not wash his/her clothes regularly especially underwear, then it can also result in Jockitch.
• This skin disease is highly contagious and being intimate with an individual facing the skin disease can also lead to Jockitch.

Jock itch is a fungal infection that remains in the body for about 2-3 weeks. The period is not so long but the rashes and itching problem makes the person irritated and it can even worsen his or her condition. So if you feel itching and redness in your groin or thigh area then try to keep that area dry. Avoid wearing tight fitted clothes as far as possible.

Apart from this there are many antifungal medicines available without doctor’s prescription. They come in form of creams, ointments and powders however, stop using these medications immediately if you face any allergy.

As the fungus only affects the upper layer of your skin so Jock itch can be best treated with the use of topical ointments and creams. Most of the antifungal medicines do require doctor’s prescription but there are antifungal medicines too that you can buy over-the-counter (OTC) which include:
•	Tolnaflate
•	Clotrimazole
•	Miconazole
The creams you are using to treat Jock itch should be applied three times a day for at least two weeks. Stop applying the cream if the rashes have gone completely. To avoid itching, you can also use sarna lotion.

Some Prevention For Jock Itch
To stop Jock itch from occurring again and again follow the given preventive measures:
•	Try to wear loose fitted clothes
•	Don’t use dirty towels or clothes
•	Keep the groin and thigh area dry
•	Use antifungal spray once a day to prevent infection.
•	Take bath daily.

Jockitch is an irritated rash on the groin area, which results from an external infection from fungi. A number of men and women encounter this skin disease world wide, though it is very often seen in the humid tropics. This skin disease may affect your groin alone, but slowly it may multiply to some other skin parts that include genitals, thighs as well as a few areas around anus, vagina or rectum.

There are many organisms identified to cause Jockitch and the risk factors related to Jockitch causes are:
•	Damaged immune systems
•	Humidity
•	Heat
•	Tight clothing

Jockitch can also be distinguished by several skin problems such as:
•	Eczema
•	Erythrasma
•	Contact dermatitis
•	Psoriasis
•	Skin fold’s chronic irritation

This skin disease may become persistent if left without any treatment.

Jockitch Cause
Jockitch occurs from several fungi known as tinea cruris and rashes that may take place in anybody, not just in men or athletes. People who are taking wide spectrum antibiotics and have diabetes or a weak immune system are more prone to develop the Jockitch skin disease. Jockitch is caused because of the presence of moisture, warmth and friction among the skin folds, which makes the groin region specifically open to fungal infection.

Being intimate with people harboring bacterial fungus can also make you catch the problem of Jockitch. Fungi called dermatophytes cause Jockitch. Wearing tight clothing can also lead to the problem of Jockitch. Unhygienic practices like not changing underclothes daily as well as sharing of apparels or towels are some of the causes of Jockitch.

Overview on Jockitch
Jockitch is a common fungal infection that mainly infects groin and upper thighs. This skin irritation disease sometimes is known as crotch itch, crotch rot, dhobi itch, crack fungus and bag rot. Jockitch frequently affects the groin regions, genitals, as well as buttocks. The problem of this skin disease often occurs in the humid areas and in hot climatic conditions when there is lots of sweating.

The skin disease can also extend towards the anal area and pelvis region. When jockitch expands it broadens out in a circular shape and leaves red patches. The red patch that occurs because of jock itch has light color in the middle and the circular patch’s edges are rather murkier.

Symptoms of Jockitch
One of the most annoying jockitch symptoms is itching. If an individual is suffering from this skin disease then one can’t stop rubbing as well as scratching the infected area. It is suggested not to scratch the infected area since more an individual scratches, more an area becomes scratchy. Because of the skin infection jockitch, there are a number of people who have to face many embarrassing situations, as they try to scratch their groin regions at very unlikely places.

Other jockitch symptoms than itching include flaking or shedding of skin as well as burning sensation in infected areas. If you notice any ringworm shaped patch in your groin region then you are facing the problem of Jockitch skin disease. The symptoms of Jockitch also include fungal skin rashes like ringworm or athlete’s foot on some other parts of body.

If we observe any of such symptoms on you skin, then immediately use anti fungal medications otherwise the infection can spread rapidly to other parts of the body as well or consult doctor who will prescribe medications to diagnose the problem.

Jockitch is caused by reckless fungus, which may be found almost anywhere, and affect the skin of buttocks, inner thighs and genitals. Some of the jockitch treatment methods include:

• Using anti-fungal creams: The first step towards jockitch treatment is to apply an effective anti-fungal cream on the affected area. Most of these creams may be purchased from any local chemist, and normally, no prescription is needed. However, some serious infections do not get cured with merely applying the creams. In that case, the patient will be required to consult a doctor who will prescribe a better and stronger medicine.

• Always clean the affected area with water and soap: There is always a dried part of skin in and around jockitch. The patient needs to wash out the dry skin with the help of clean water and a mild anti-bacterial soap. After that, apply the cream on and beyond the edges.

• Paying attention to the blisters: It is not necessary that every case of jockitch will have blisters, but they are very likely to happen. In case of blisters, the patients should make sure that they use the correct medicine.

In spite of all these medications, the best method of jockitch treatment is getting rid of the fungus itself. The patient should also avoid scratching the area, as it can further spread the fungus. It may also break up the skin, making the person more susceptible to the infection. The patient should also launder the clothes thoroughly, as it will prevent the person from contracting further infection.

Jockitch is common fungal disease, which basically infects upper thighs and groin areas. This skin disease sometimes is also called dhobi itch, crotch rot, bag rot, crotch itch and crack fungus. Jockitch mainly affects the groin areas, buttocks as well as genitals. Millions of people all over the world encounter the jockitch skin disease, more often in humid tropics.

This disease can extend towards pelvis area and anal region. When this disease grows, it broadens out in circular shape, leaving a normal skin with a red patch. This red patch is light in color in the center and its edges are darker.

Symptoms of jockitch
Most annoying symptom of jockitch is itching and if you are suffering from jockitch skin disease one cannot stop rubbing and scratching. It is noted that more an individual scratch the infected area, the more that area becomes itchy. Because of jockitch skin disease, there are many people who faced so many embarrassing moments when they try to scuff their groin regions in many unlikely places.

Apart from itching, there are many other jockitch symptoms that mainly include burning sensations in the infected area as well as shedding or flaking of skin. If you have noticed a patch in ringworm-shape like in the groin areas then you are suffering from jockitch skin disease.

Jockitch symptoms can be easily summed up into three words- red, flaky and itchy. Once you identify the jockitch symptoms, you must immediately visit the drugstore and purchase an anti fungal cream or topical solution to get relief from itching as well as burning sensation.
